About Mitchell

Mitchell Yazdani was born in Isfahan, the city of art and craft in old Persia, current Iran, which is known for the paintings, history and architecture. His father was a successful fashion designer running his own fashion boutique making ladies dresses and wedding gowns, dating back to 1949.

Mitchell was always fascinated by music, art and design, playing guitar and teaching fine art in a private school as an assistant tutor. He migrated to Sydney, Australia early 1986, when he started studying visual arts and graduated in 1991. He begins working as a freelance designer for an Australian fashion firm in 1989 and in a publishing company in 1991. Working in the fashion firm quickly leads him to start his own family retail store specilising in Australiana clothing and UGG boots. Alongside with running one of the family Australiana stores he explores his different passion of working as a freelance designer.

Late 1990 for his other passion of photography and cinematography, he started his new company called Icon Film Productions, which soon after he became one of the leaders in his industry, winning ABIA best videograpers award in New South Wales in 1997 and Australia's best videograpers award in 1998, also he became a member of Australian Cinematographers Society.

Since 1991 till today he has also been running his family business, now being the largest chain store retailer of Australian UGG boots in Australia and he is the only UGG designer with the design background qualification.
