In 1986, Mitchell's journey took him to Sydney, Australia, where he embarked on his pursuit of visual arts. He immersed himself in the world of creativity, playing the guitar and sharing his knowledge as an assistant tutor at a private school. Graduating with a degree in visual arts in 1991, he had already laid the foundation for a career that would blend art and design seamlessly.

A significant turning point came in 1989 when he joined an Australian fashion firm as a freelance designer.
